Osteopathie zählt in Deutschland zur Heilkunde. Nach deutschem Recht dürfen nur Ärzte und Heilpraktiker die Heilkunde selbständig ausüben. Physiotherapeuten dürfen osteo-pathische Techniken anwenden, soweit diese Techniken im Bereich der Physiotherapie angesiedelt sind. Eine entsprechende Verordnung (Privat-rezept) durch einen Arzt/Heilpraktiker ist für Physiotherapeuten notwendig.

Alle Personen, die einen Platz auf unserer Therapeutenliste einnehmen, verfügen über eine abgeschlossene Berufsausbildung als Arzt oder Heilpraktiker oder Physiotherapeut/ Masseur und haben ihre berufs-begleitende osteopathische Aus-bildung nach den Kriterien unseres Verbandes abgeschlossen.
Personen, die sich noch im letzten Abschnitt ihrer osteopathischen Aus-bildung befinden, sind als solche mit dem Zusatz (in osteopathischer Ausbildung) gekennzeichnet.

Personen, die mit „Osteopath BAO“ gekennzeichnet sind, haben Ihre Aus-bildung nach den Richtlinien der Bundesarbeitsgemeinschaft Osteo-pathie, BAO e.V., abgeschlossen und sind im Besitz einer entsprechenden BAO-Urkunde.

Personen, die mit „Osteopath DO“ gekennzeichnet sind, haben darüber hinaus eine umfangreiche Abschluss-arbeit im Bereich der Osteopathie erstellt.
